Wouldn’t it be amazing if every day was a good hair day? Let’s face it though, that’s impossible. Even hairstylists have bad hair days too. I’ve compiled a list to disguise your bad hair days for those times when you can’t call in sick to work anymore.
Who doesn’t love a braid? Now that I’m thinking about it, Katniss Everdeen and Queen Elsa are both always wearing braids and not only are they two tough cookies, they look good doing it! The fishtail takes a bit more mastering but a traditional French braid will do just the trick! This doesn’t have to mean one big braid either. Braid your bangs back, wear a half braid, heck you can even wear two braids!! The fun thing about braids is they’re so versatile that you can wear them absolutely anywhere. Don’t worry if you can’t figure it out either, there’s only a million YouTube tutorials out there!!
2. Pony Tail
I LOVE a cute ponytail! A bad hair day is the perfect excuse to rock a sleek pony tail! Start by applying a little bit of Hair Serum to your hands or a fine-tooth comb, then use it to pull your hair back and smooth out any lumps or bumps. Secure with any hair tie you prefer. For something a little more “done,” hide your hair tie by grabbing a tiny section of hair from your pony tail, wrapping it around the hair tie and secure it with a bobby pin. If you’re into the “undone” look, like myself, simply pull on your pony tail and run your fingers along your hairline to pull out those baby hairs.
This can be anything you make of it! Hats can change the look of any outfit! Wintertime is the perfect time to try out a cute knit hat! Going out in the spring or summer? Try a fedora! A baseball cap is perfect for those busy weekend errands. You can even add a low bun in the back or on the side for a cute yet casual look. If you’re not usually a hat wearer, I urge you to try one!! They’ve recently opened up a whole new world for me on bad hair days.
4. Bobby Pins
This is exactly as simple as it sounds. What you want to do here is grab all of your hair at once, hold it tight up against your head, then place Bobby pins to secure. It sounds strange, but it looks really good!! This is my trick for pretty much all lazy days. Sometimes I’ll even leave a few pieces out, twist them first and then Bobby pin. I promise. It ends up looking like an expensive up do and people will be asking you all day if you had your hair done at the salon!!
5. Sock Bun
Sock buns are the best way to look like you tried really hard on your hair that morning. Now you can pick up those little mesh donuts for .99 cents and they make sock buns a hundred times easier! If you’re looking for a way to really dress it up, style your sock bun higher than usual and add a tiny bow in the back underneath the bun. It ends up reminding me of Beauty and the Beast, it’s totally cute and romantic!
One thing to keep in mind is that even when your hair is clean, it’s usually best to a little Hair Serum to your mop. This will add texture and give a good base to any style you’re trying! Remember, too, that no matter how bad of a hair day you’re having, it’s all ok and you’re beautiful no matter what!!
